Cologne Sports University presents Esport study

For the first time in Germany, the German Sport University Cologne examined the training and health behavior of 1,200 esport athletes and is now presenting the study results at a press conference on January 17, 2019.

The study was conducted by the Institute for Exercise Therapy and Exercise-Oriented Prevention and Rehabilitation together with the Institute for Workplace Health Promotion of the AOK Rhineland/Hamburg and for the first time examined the training and health behavior of esport athletes of different performance levels. Nearly 1,200 gamblers living in Germany participated in the nationwide study. The data collected will provide information on how physically active and healthy the target group lives, how they structure their workouts, and what relationships exist between video games and individual health behaviors.

Univ. -Prof. Dr. Ingo Froböse, as acting director of the institute for movement therapy and movement-oriented prevention and rehablitation of the German sport university Cologne and Rolf Buchwitz, deputy chairman of the board of the AOK Rhineland/Hamburg will be present as interlocutors.
