The Federal Ministry of Justice and for Consumer Protection (BMJV) is conducting a public consultation on the implementation of the two copyright directives (EU) 2019/790 (DSM-RL) and (EU) 2019/789 (Online-SatCab-RL) of April 17, 2019.
These directives are to be transposed into German law by June 7, 2021. As a first step in this implementation process, the BMJV would like to give interested parties the opportunity to comment comprehensively.
However, there are some requirements for consideration:
1. in the statement on the guidelines, one can comment on them as well as
also propose specific regulatory texts for implementation in German law.
2. the submitted statements are generally published on the internet portal of the BMJV. This includes names and other personal data contained in the document. If one does not agree with the publication of personal data, these would have to be removed from the document.
4. if one objects to the publication of the statement on the Internet as a whole, the BMJV website will merely note that a statement was submitted and who drafted it.
5. the BMJV asks to submit the statement in a PDF format.
